Roll Out the Red Carpet

On Sunday night we cohosted a glamorous Oscars party fit for our movie star guests. We collaborated with Serge and Nikhil of m1-5 Bar & Lounge to transform a chic Tribeca lounge into an Oscar worthy viewing room. Guests loved our Oscar menu filled with previews, feature films, credits and concessions. We are excited to share our evening with you.
THE INVITATION
A beautiful party begins with a beautiful invitation. We use Splash to customize our gorgeous invitations. Splash distributes online invitations (think Evite, Paperless Post and Punchbowl), manages contact lists (think MailChimp), sells tickets (think Eventbrite), and creates a page to showcase the postparty photos (think Flickr). You can find our original invitation here.
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS
We combined gold, red, white and black for our Oscar-worthy color scheme. We transformed ordinary red fabric into our fabulous red carpet. We created our glamorous red carpet photobooth with metallic gold and black fringe curtains from Decorative Novelty and OSCARS balloons from Instaballoons. We recommend doubling up on red carpets to make the width wider. We created adorable table centerpieces using Oscar statues, popcorn boxes and printablesInstaballoons is offering Twinspirational followers a 10% discount on their balloon purchases. Just use this link and / or use the discount code Twinspirational to create a memorable Photo Booth for your next event.
THE RED CARPET PRESHOW
We asked our guests to dress to impress since this awards show is as much about fashion as it is about film. Gentlemen sported suits or tuxedos, while ladies donned gowns or cocktail dresses. Our guests loved our Oscar Photo Booth props from Printable Prop Shop on Etsy. It's cheaper to buy the digital files and print yourself, but if you are pressed for time, you can always order them fully assembled. We also separately purchased clap boards, film strip and video reels. The paparazzi caught the guests with their Oscars awards too.
AND THE OSCAR WINNING DISHES ARE...
Archana custom created an Oscar menu for the evening. She imagined "if these outstanding movies, actors, actresses and directors were dishes, what would they be?”

Guests loved our Oscar inspired menu.
Guests enjoyed Dunkirken Doughnuts and Brigadeiro Coco Balls by Lindy's Sweet Creations for dessert.
We served guests Oscar inspired specialty cocktails. Hellisoy sponsored the All the Hellisoy in the World and the Oscar-tini.
OSCAR GAMES
The Oscars are a 3+ hour affair. Bingo was a big hit at our 2016's Oscar Party so we decided to bring it back this year. This isn't the Super Bowl so guests can enjoy some off-screen fun. Congrats to our big winner, Anna!
BEST COSTUME DESIGN
The Academy Awards are not just about achievements in film. This awards show is also about seeing your favorite celebrities get all dolled up in their best or worst looks. Our Oscar party also delivered a night of gorgeous fashion from our guests.
OSCAR SWAG
At the end of the night, guests departed with an Oscar chocolate lollipop in milk, lemon or red chocolate.
THAT'S A WRAP!
Thanks to Serge, Nikhil and the staff at m1-5 for a wonderful evening. Special thanks to Eric and Hellisoy for sponsoring our cocktails. For more Oscars ideas, check out La La Oscars and It's Showtime.
